Christmas starts......

Well the start of the Christmas cards for demos do anyway!
Here are some samples I made months ago and submitted to a mag, but they were not used, so I thought I would share them with you...
This one is made on an acetate base that I have cut into the shape of a Christmas tree. The little bits of paper are just little strips that I have glued onto the base (this is a great way to get rid of all the little bits of paper that we are always left with).

This one is designed using the Diamond Card Craft board - always makes nice shaped cards and makes folding card sooooo much easier!
You don't need to have the board but it does make your life easier.
This one I just cut free hand. It is supposed to look like an old fashioned lantern. I cut the frame and then used some vellum for the back of the candle.

Well that's all for now.....
My new Do Crafts box should arrive next week and as usual there are lots of crafty things I need to be doing.

Next week will be the first time I have crafted since David died. I feel I have to - if I don't do it soon, I might never do it.

This picture was taken when David and I went down to Ascot for my sister's wedding in May.
We were sitting having breakfast with Kris and his girlfriend, Lynn.
I think the picture just sums us up........ we really were very much in love, but always had time for silly faces and dancing in the rain.
Life is short and you don't know what will be around the corner... never let fear stop you dancing in the rain.........

3 weeks have gone by

and I feel like my feet haven't had time to touch the ground.
Thank you so much to all of you who have sent me lovely messages of support, cards or flowers. They really have been a great comfort to Kris and I.
I know that I will read the cards over and over again and get a lot of warmth from them.
Kris and I are doing ok. Not great, but ok. We will get there, it will just take some time.

Sorry I haven't made a lot to show you over the past few weeks - my plan is to tidy up the study (that is where most of my craft stuff has been put) over the next few weeks and then start making things again.

Golfer's birthday

First of all I wanted to say sorry to those of you who have requested a few tutorials! I have been rushed off my feet and both my DH and I have been poorly.
I will get round to it, it might just take me a while.

A friend of mine asked me to make a birthday card for her Grandad - no problem I thought..... then she told me she wanted it to be a golf theme! - never mind..... gulp....

This is what I came up with, I was quite pleased with it in the end....

My Mum read this at my sister's wedding at the beginning of this month.....

Because of the depths of me, I long to love one person,

I love the new stitch and craft template - here is what I did with that......

But I really love the dimension butterfly punch! It sold like hotcakes - in fact it sold out in a couple of hours!!

It might have been cold but it was full of fun and laughter...

What a couple of weeks...... where oh where has all the time gone?
Last week we were all in London, well Ascot to be exact, at my sisters wedding - congratulations to Mr & Mrs Kennaugh!
I will be back later with some pictures....
Also, things this week have been really busy between Guide work and trying to get samples ready for my demo this week.....

I promise, after the demo this weekend - I will post some pictures of what I have been up to...

I have two of the most cuddly dogs in the world!
Daisy and Dylan are always on hand if the world is tough and you are in need of a snuggle.
Their love is unconditional, so is always there.

My DH is much better now - still not great but much better than he was.
I am just glad to have him home........ between me having an op last week and then him this week, we have more than had our monies worth from the NHS.
Thank goodness we have an NHS......

I designed it from a square card so that everyone can make it. Then I drew the roof free hand (don't worry, it's not as scary as it sounds..... have fun and play!).

I designed this as a new house card, but you could adapt it to anything at all.

I have just spent the evening with the 4th Guides.
I've really missed them, they are a fab bunch of girls...... and Leaders.....

I don't know if I'll be allowed back soon though as I started a paper fight that looked like a snow storm! lol (wish I had a picture to show you all!) lol

It's amazing to be part of the journey that the girls take and hard to leave it all behind..... but I know that I have done the right thing.... and there will always be new challenges to take part in or to do....

It was my birthday on Friday and boy did they make it feel special.
I am so lucky, I have a wonderful hubbie, fantastic son and super friends.
Kris put 36 balloons in the living room - guess my age!?!?

My fabby friend, Helen brought me lunch....... part of which included a purple cupcake (lavender icing!) it was wonderful.....

Every so often it is up to a designer to pick the challenge, and this week it was my theme.

I'm not sure why I picked black & white, I think I just thought it would be different....... well for me anyway - how impressed my friends will be that over the last few weeks I have really made an effort not to have everything purple! lol

My wonderful son, Kris, has a birthday today! (SShhhhh! don't tell anyone but he has turned 19 today)............. his last year as a teenager.........
He is off work today and we are spending the day tomorrow just the two of us! I love our days together, he has grown so fast, it feels like just yesterday he was a toddler.
I am so proud of him - he really has turned into a wonderful, kind, hard working, caring young man.

What a curve ball!

I am really sorry that I have been missing in action for a while, last week I ended up in hospital (I'll not bore you with all the details but oh the joys of being a woman, if you know what I mean!!).
Well the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh...... what can I say........ great place to go if you are looking to lose some weight - the food is not good! lol
Most of the staff are excellent, we had one who was awful, she was mean to everyone and just nasty. I don't think people like that should be allowed into nursing!
And then there was Gillian, she was on nights. What a wonderful, kind and caring person she is. She was so friendly and compassionate, in fact everything that a good nurse should be!
Thank you so much to my wonderful hubbie, without you I wouldn't have made it through the darkness. And to my Mum who I still cried for (even though I'm 36!!!) and she was still there for me.
I am so lucky to be surrounded by wonderful family and friends (even though many are mad!) they make the sunshine come through the clouds.
My journey with this problem is far from over but at least for today, I'm still smilin'
I'll be back in a mo with some projects to show you......

Well I have signed up to walk 26 miles at night, yes you read it correctly 26 miles!!
For those of you who know me you will know that this is a huge thing for me to commit to - for various reasons, least of all my health!

I am doing the Moonwalk. Not only for those who have breast cancer but for every person who has ever had any kind of cancer, for those who have fought and won, for those who have fought and lost and for those who are still fighting!

Forever Friends Challenge Blog

The theme for this week is all to do with the Chinese New Year - so it's anything oriental.

My Nanna's day

Saturday was a wonderful day. Last week was a very special birthday for my Nanna, and we all got together on Saturday to celebrate (she had no idea that we were all going to be there).
The look on her face was priceless!
I made her some earrings and a scarf (one set from David and I and the other set from Kris). I also made her a box of cards to use throughout the year.
The most work though was in her card...... She loved it!

The card was great fun to do as I looked through all our photos and had a great time just remembering all the fab times we had.
Wow! - Lots of piccies for you to look at there!
It was great to see my sisters again (they live down south now so we really don't get to see enough of each other).

My huge project this week has been making my Nanna's birthday card and prezzie - I am only telling you this in the hope that she won't be reading my blog this week! (sshhhh! it's a secret!!).

Oh my goodness!
Were has the time gone!? I think that 2009 is just flying in already...... my feet just don't seem to have hit the ground.
I have been making quite a few things and I hope to be back later on with some piccies.

See - how quick was that for service! lol, here are some of the piccies.....

As you can see, I have been demoing the new Forever Friends range of decoupage as well as some other goodies. The decoupage is really easy to use as it is all die cut and it is all die cut really well! So you don't even need a pair of scissors.

Well the Christmas Day celebrations are finished, the tree is nearly down, New Year has come and gone.... and now everyone is back at work........
I'm lucky, I do a job I love so to me the last one is not a hard thing to do (also I work based from home so again that makes things a bit easier for me! lol)

There are some great new things coming our from Do Crafts - if you are in the Greenock area come on over and say hi to me at the demo this Saturday.......

I love decoupage and I love the Forever Friends bears, so you can all imagine how happy I am that there are now decoupage Forever Friends available! If the rest of the Forever Friends range is anything to go by them these little chaps are going to sell like hot cakes!

Well for everyone up here in Bonnie Scotland you will know exactly what I mean.....
for everyone else.......
I wish you all the health and happiness that 2009 can bring.
My wish for all of you is that the best day of 2008 is like the worst day of 2009!

Thank you to everyone who came to see me at my demos in 2008 - you have offered me a lot of support in what has been a very tough year at times.
A lot of you have become very good friends and I look forward to seeing you all again in 2009.

Thank you to my friends - old and new, you know who you are, who with out even knowing it make the sunshine smile through the clouds.

Thank you to all the people I work with. I am lucky enough to have one of the best jobs in the world! I really love what I do and I hope to do it for a long time yet! I might never be rich but it makes me very happy (more important than the money!).

Thank you to my family, especially my Mum. She is very special and has always loved me for who I am. She's very special.

And most of all thank you to my wonder husband and fabby son. They are my reason for getting up in the morning. They support me in everything I do, even when they don't agree with my decision (and they never say I told you so when it goes wrong). I am very proud of them both.

Always remember........ if lemon are what you are given in life............. make lemonade!

A little giftbag

Hi there,
as promised here are the instructions for the little gift bag that I created from an A4 sheet of card.
This has been a very popular little bag at my demos this year............ I hope you like it.
You will need an A4 piece of card (any colour will do but I suggest you use white for your first attempt), a pencil, a ruler and a score board (I have used the Diamond Card Craft score board - it always gives a really nice finish). A good pair of scissors will also be a must - my favourite are the x-cut spring detail scissors (available in the UK from any Do Craft stockist).
Work with the card smallest end facing you.
1. Measure and mark from the side (it is the right hand side in the picture) at 1cm, 4cm, 14cm , 17cm and 18cm.
2. Do the same on the opposite side of the card and join your points together.
3. Turn the card so that you now have the longest side facing you.
4. Measure and mark at 10cm. 13cm and 23cm.
5. Do the same on the opposite side of the card and join your points together.
6. Use the picture as your guide.
7. Create a fastener at the top of your design - see photo
8. On the side panels, find the half way point and then mark from the bottom edge to the top center - this will help with the finished shape of your bag. - see photo
9. Cut out the body of your bag, be careful at this stage because the left over bits will be used to make your handle and pocket.
10. Using the scoreboard go over all your lines - this will make it much easier when it comes to folding and sticking the edges.
11. Decorate your bag and then add you pocket and handle..
12. Stick together using the tabs and ds tape or glue
I will do a step by step photo when I am feeling better. I just wanted to get this up now so that it could be used for Christmas.

Hi there,
I am still fighting this cold off, i've had it now for over two weeks and it just seems to linger....... very nasty and of course it means I have the energy levels of a flea swimming in treacle!

End of an era.......

Last night was my last night at Guides.
Not just for the Christmas holidays but forever! The time had just come for new challenges and ventures and to allow everyone else to grow in their roles in the Unit.
It will be odd next year when I know they are all back and I am not part of it anymore.....
I'm not leaving Girlguiding Midlothian (far from it! I will still be their arts adviser for the next 4 years and I am going to become a Scottish Trainer - that will keep me out of trouble!) lol
Last night I was given a wonderful bunch of flowers, some choccies, a bottle of wine, a cute pen and a lovely friendship pin.
The most special thing was a photo album that was photos of my Guiding life - it was really nice to be able to look back and remember when the piccies were taken.
I will miss everyone of the girls - some of them a lot! My BP girls are now all moving on too!
Good luck to everyone at the 4th Guides - I know I am leaving you in very safe hands.....
(and Jean - you know were I am if you need me! But I know you will be fine and you will do an amazing job!)

A wonderful gift? - Not!

My wonderful husband has brought in a cold from his work and because he is wonderful he thought he would share it with me!
So here I am only a few weeks down from getting rid of the last one, with a head that has a very badly playing brass band thumping away in it and the energy level of a sloath!
Hey ho - just one of those things I guess..........
It's very cold here too, so a good day for staying in my pjs and not going very far.....
My two fabby doggies are keeping me company and they also double up as very good hot water bottles....
Day time tv really is rubbish though! But at least I am getting some stamped images coloured in so I can make some of my Christmas cards....
People at my demos have all been asking if I have made all my Chrimbo cards..... well the honest answer is NO!!!! I have made a few, mostly for orders from other people but I haven't really started on our cards..... I have been demoing them since July so it feels like I have made hundreds and if you were to count all the samples I have left at the shops I've demoed at it probably has been hundreds......
Better get a move on though! I'm not demoing this weekend so it will be a great time to get busy and get them made.
All my Do Crafts demos are now finished for this year (I still have a showcase to do at Southfield Paper People - come on over and say hello if you are in the area, it would be fab to see you! It will be on the 20th December! - you will be able to buy one of my cards if you want on that day too!).
Thank you to everyone who has come along to my demos this year. I have had a wonderful time and have really enjoyed getting to know some of you very well - we have shared a lot of ideas and laughter.

What a fantastic weekend I had!
My first demo was up in Inverness - Hobby Haven... what a fantastic shop with just about every craft under the sun in it! We had great fun making cards and playing with die-cutting.
Thanks for the warm welcome - I hope to see you all again in the New Year.
My second demo was in PaperMill at Livingston.
It was a day of Forever Friends - I really love those little bears. I even got given a Forever Friend bear of my very own to keep - I have called her Milly as she came from the PaperMill. (I'll be back with a picture of her very soon..... she is just adorable and I think she will be coming along to every Do Crafts demo that I do from now on!).
One of the projects I made for the PaperMill was also my project of the week over on the Forever Friends Challenge Blog (see the side bar on the right for the link!)
It's my version of a Christmas Advent box.

Great road trip

David and I set off early today to take a road trip down to Carlisle. (just over 180 mile round trip).
I really wanted to go and see a very good friend of mine (David says we are both very very special) lol

Jo was doing a demo at The Range and I just had to pop across and see her. She stopped for lunch and we managed to get together for a blether and a lot of laughter. Especially as the cafe turned out to be a burger bar in the car park!

It was a wonderful day and I was so pleased to get to see Jo. We really don't get to see enough of each other! She has some wonderful cards on show at her demo...... well done you my dear!

Well, I managed to spend £80!!!! so I guess I better go and make some items with some of the stuff ( I did buy a couple of new Forever Friends stamps - keep an eye out for them in the Forever Friends Challenge! They could be making an appearance very very soon! lol)

I just had to share my news - I am sooooo proud of my son I could burst!
Kris has been given the Volkswagon Commercial Apprentice Of The Year Award!!!

Out of everyone in the UK he has been chosen! I am so proud.

Kris loves his job and he works very hard at it - and now he gets the recognition that he deserves.

Blurfin

It's a very cold wintery day here, the sky last night was fab all pink and red.
I really thought it was going to snow but it didn't - I think it's on the way though.
My friends little boy is in hospital this week, he's only a couple of months old and he has what to us would be a common cold, but to him it's a lot more.
He's on the mend but I think it will be a few days yet before he has turned a corner.
Hopefully he gets out of high dip today.

I've been blurfin' today - loads of fabby blogs out there to look at. I've got loads of work to do but keep getting distracted.

Off to get some work done now though.

5 min chocolate cake!

Jo sent me this this morning and I just had to share it with you!
How wonderful does this sound...........

5 min chocolate mug cake

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug & mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk & oil & mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) & vanilla extract. Mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave & cook for 3 mins at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little & tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT!!! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous!).
And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world??????
Because now we are only ever 5 mins away from choloclate cake at any time of the day or night!

A little bag for you

Here is a little bag that I have been working on today - there are different ways of doing the top..... one of them closes at the top (I've not taken a piccie of this one yet but I will).
I have done it this way so that it can sit on my desk and hold my stamped images...

This one is for the demo on Saturday at Paperlace in Dalkeith (come along and see me if you are around!)

I have been making a few cards as well but they are for my Mum's birthday next week, so I can't show you them just yet.

Project of the moment - 5

This is a card that can be adapted for any occasion!
As you can tell I am really loving the Forever Friends collection (available from all Creativity Stores from Do Crafts).

1. Take a square card and fold along the crease to give you a sharp cease.
2. Open out the card and cut two circle appertures into the front section, I used the shapecutter from Do Crafts. Using the smallest circle - the outside edge gave me the bigger circle and the inside edge gave me the smaller circle.
3. Using a bigbite I then punched out little holes all around the edges of both circles.
4. Attach your desired paper to the back of the front section of the card.
5. Fix a co-ordinating sticker onto the middle of the card.
6. To finish off I have added detail by using co-ordinating little button stickers into 2 of the corners.

Well that's me back from London now and what a great trip it was.
I got to have lots of wonderful cuddles from Bethany, she is such a lovely little girl.
I also got to catch up with both of my sisters, something we don't do often enough!

I have taken some great piccies and as soon as I can find the cable for the computer I will pop them up.
I've changed the look of my blog - what do you think.....? I like the background so think I might just keep it like this for a while..

I've also made up some cards to share with you all and I have a new project of the week ready to put up........ where oh where is the cable (Kris!!!! any ideas......... lol)

I'll not be one here this week as I am off to London to visit my sister (well to see both of them really) and to see my niece, Bethany.
I've not seen her yet so am really looking forward to my first cuddle with her.
I'm also taking down Sara's wedding invites (my sis) for next year. I've hidden some other crafty stuff in my case too so that I can be craftin at night time!

Project of the moment - 4

Everyone needs a hug from time to time!

This is a nice and easy card - just right for a Sunday! And it can be adapted to any word eg - Mum, Xmas, Dad, Son etc etc

1. Using a pencil, draw your word free hand onto your card (if you are worried about this use your computer to create nice big letters that you can draw around). Make sure you go up to the fold in your card - this will act as the cards hinge when you are finished so is very important.
2. When you are happy with your lettering go around your pencil lines with a pen or marker.
3. Carefully cut around the line you have just drawn with a craft knife. (making sure that you go through both layers of your card).
4. To finish off my card I popped a Forever Friends sticker onto some white card and then cut around him before using some foam pads to fasten him to the card. The foam pads give a nice raised effect.

I liked this sticker because I thought he looked like he was giving a hug.

Give it a try and then leave a comment so I can see what you have done.

I am really sorry that this weeks 'project of the week' is late. I will try and get it up over the next couple of days - it has just been one of those weeks....

I spent a few days just Kris and I (my son). It was really nice as we don't get to spend enough time together. We got to be tourists in Edinburgh and we spent a day shopping.... so very tired and very skint I was not very happy when I found out that someone had hacked into my email and sent out a spam email to everyone in my account!

I've never had someone do that kind of thing to me before and it left me really shaken.

I refuse to be beaten though! So I've increased the internet security that I have on my pc and email and I've contacted my email provider....

I just don't know how these people sleep at night. I hope with karma that it comes round and bites them in the behind!!

Hope you understand why I'm a bit behind.......... sorry x x

Welcome to the world James

My friend Lynne (we have known each other forever! - we were at school together) has given birth to a beautiful little boy - James.

I'm sure her other son, Adam, will just love being a big brother.

I didn't get the chance to go and see her while she was in hospital so I will pop down for a cuddle today.

Here's the card I made to welcome him into the world - I used the 'project of the week' to make it.

Forever Birthday

1. Take an A4 piece of card & fold it into 3 (if you have a score board score on the DL marking - turn the card around and score on the same line again. This will give you the perfect concertina card every time - or you can buy one already made!)
2. Fold the front of your card over in half. This will give you a funny 'M' shaped card - see photo for help!
3. Take a sheet of Forever Friends paper - I have used one from the 6 x 6 Party Time pad. Carefully trim around the bottom section of the paper (this will give you the rectangle with some flowers that overlap and the bear). Edge the paper with pen and then stick it onto the small strip on the front of your card.
4.Trim the remaining piece of paper so that you have a neat rectangle. Edge this with the same colour of pen that you used before and glue this rectangle into position (use the photo above for guidance).
5. Finish off your card by adding adhesive stones to the corners and glitter glue dots to the center of the flowers.
6. In this version, I then trimmed down the card so that it was even on both sides of the paper that I had used.
7. If you want to personalise this card - add the persons name to the backing paper using diecut letters or alphabet stickers.

This is also a great card to do for new babies etc (the paper pack for babies is 'Hugs & Cuddles') - I am really loving these Forever Friends papers! Takes me back! lol

It's one of my Guides birthday (happy birthday Sarah!), as I am helping at the Brownie Pack tonight that she helps at too, I thought I would make her a card and cake...

Project of the moment - 2

This week I thought I would show you the yellow Forever Friends card that I made at my demo over the weekend.

Forever yellow!

1. Cut two 12cm squares of co-ordinating papers. Then cut them in half (you will now have two triangles of each paper - cut these in half again).
2. Take 2 of the triangles (of the same design) and fix them to the card opposite each other.
3. Take 2 triangles of the other paper and fix them to the card in the remaining spaces.
4. Now cut a 10cm square out of card that is the same colour as your base card and a 8cm square from one of your patterned papers. Fix the smaller square onto the larger square, edge the large square with pen and then fix to your card.
5.Cut a 5cm square of card (again the same as your base card) edge this with a co-ordinating colour of pen and then fix this square to the card - use the picture as a guide.
6. Add a Forever Friend sticker.
(If you want a different look to the card try cutting the layers a little smaller and have them sitting at different angles! Every time you do it you get a different look to the card)

Give it a go and let me know how you get on.

Silver baubles!

Picture to follow!!

1. Use a square card as your base.
2. Cut out 3 circles from black & silver paper (the paper I used was from Anitas black collection available from Do Crafts) - I used a shapecutter to cut out my circles (also available from Do Crafts).
3. Stick 3 different lengths of ribbon to your card - I like to stagger the lengths for the best effect.
4. Attach the circles to the end of the ribbons.
5. Where the ribbon and circles meet attach a bow (I made mine from the same ribbon).

Hey presto - a quick but very effective card.

It works in other colours too!

I have been rushed off my feet between one thing and another - sorry!

The curve ball of life!

You know the feeling that someone up there is just waiting for everything to be ticking along nicely and then, I'm sure they think...... lets give them another curve ball and see what they do with that one!
This weekend has been eventful and to say stressful just doesn't do it any justice!
I went off to Kendal (for my demo) on Friday - Kris was at work and David was going to the docs to see about his strained calf muscle............
Well it wasn't a strained calf muscle but a dvt - oh goody!
So now he is off to the hospital every day for a jab and blood tests while we are waiting for the tablets to kick in........
He should be fine now but it will be a very long 6 weeks waiting for the treatment to take proper effect!
Oh the joys......

Anyway - I've been really busy making things (can't show you them until after my demo this weekend - come on over to Letham crafts if you are in the area and make sure you say hello!).
So here is a card I can show you!

A girly Christmas

Here is a girly Christmas card that I made for my Do Crafts demo.

I don't tend to do pink (normally purple!!) but I thought I would give it a try......... The red stars are flocked, so they are soft and fluffy....

Anniversary card

This is a very simple card to make, using the Eazi-Box from Diamond card craft.

Items needed,
Eazi-Box board, 2 x 12x12 sheets of paper, double sided tape, adhesive gems & a dimension sticker or embellishment

1. Fold your base paper in half, place over the octogon on the bottom of the board & emboss the outer 2 octagons, cut around the outside edge of the largest octagon (make sure you leave the embossed detail on).
2. To make the layers, use your other 12 x 12 paper & emboss the 2nd & 4th octagons from the top of the board. Use some of the scrap from making your base to emboss the 3rd octagon, again from the top of the board.
You will now have 4 layers.
3. Add d.s tape to all of the layers & fix them onto your base, off setting the angle of each layer (see the pictures for a guide to this).
4. Finish the card by adding adhesive stones & a center embellishment or sticker.

Introducing Bethany

My sister is now at home with this little bundle and all of them are madly in love.

Here is the card that I made them,

it's a 12 x 12 card (one of the biggest I have done) and has4 layers.

Hopefully it will arrive at their house today. I just love this little bear stamp - he's very cute and I just love all things cute!

Bethany made her entrance into the world yesterday at 12.10pm.
As of yet I don't know her weight but I can tell you she has lots of very curly dark hair.
My sister did very well - she thinks that gas and air is her new best friend! lol

For all the people who know me who are reading this - please now pick your chin up from the floor! I don't mean me!!!!! - bet that got ya though!
One of my sister's is very very pregnant (9 months today to be exact) and she is having contractions......... they are not very regular or intense yet, but she is getting there..... so fingers crossed I will be an auntie again very soon.
One of my best friends is also very pregnant - she still has a couple of weeks to go. I'm wanting her baby to arrive too!
All these babies around can make me feel very broody........ and then they start to cry and I think no way! Handing them back is the best bit.... I get to have all the fun without the pressure of being a mum.
David and I would have loved to have another baby, but with my crappy health and now his I don't think it was ever meant to be. You never know - but I really don't want to be having babies when I am in my 40's (5 years til I'm 40 for those of you now trying to work it out!) lol
I'll let you know how things go and when the baby arrives.

Last night I met up with a good friend of mine to walk our dogs - good morning Anne!
It was such a lovely night and the dogs all seemed to love their walk.
While we were out walking we came across a group of people putting up a hot air balloon - it was amazing to watch.
Here are the pictures I took - thank goodness for mobile phones and the fact you can now take pictures anywhere you go.....

Pretty cool!
I think the people in the balloon were mad (not just mad but bonkers kind of mad! lol) but it was really cool to watch!

Papermill demo

Well, I got back from Guide camp on Friday - dumped my bag (are you seeing a pattern here!), fell into bed, got up in the morning, picked up my craft bag and headed off to the Papermill in Livingston for my demo.
Although I was very very tired, it was a great day. Very quiet at times and I had some strange people who came into the shop and just stood and stared at me. I tried a couple of times to talk to them about crafting etc but they just said 'not interested, I don't do craft' (so tell me you odd people, why were you in a craft shop at a crafting demo!!!!!!)
I made loads of cards, but I forgot to take a picture and I left all the samples at the shop! Never mind.... I will have some more to show you all soon....

And as promised I will have some more tutorials on very soon as well.
The ladies from the shop bought me s lovely bunch of sunflowers as a thank you! How kind of them was that.........

Well, I am going to go and put a washing on and then call Jo......... I've not spoken to her in well over a week and I miss our chats.....
Monday is the day for putting the world to rights!

Ayrwaves 2008

Well Guide camp has now been and gone and what a week!
I was there to hold craft sessions with the Guides and Senior Section (not just one or two! there were over 600 of them!)
I have to say, I didn't have all of them at once! They were split into little groups - thankfully!
My main activity with them was fantasy film flowers.
I have to say, if I never see the things again for a long long time it will be just fine with me!
They are very pretty though!

I spent many a night at camp listening to the rain against the side of my tent (so you would be correct in guessing that there was a lot of liquid sunshine at camp - my positive look on the fact I got very very wet!).
The bad thing about the rain meant that the good old scottish midgies were out!
I have over 200 bites form the little darlings now......
And boy do they itch!
(Sorry about the quality of pictures here - but trust me I am covered in the little bites).

Overall though, camp was really good. They girls all had a ball and the Leaders have all made lots of new friends too.
Looking forward to seeing them all again sometime soon.

My feet aint touched the ground!

Sorry I've not posted for a while - it's been really hectic here!
First of all, David and I were away at a wedding. His cousin Stuart was getting married to Mary.
The wedding went really well - everyone looked really good and everyone had a ball. It was nice to catch up with that side of our family.
Aunt Kate did the flowers for the wedding - they were amazing!

I just loved the purple colours! (Although I was told that in flower arranging they are called blue - but really they are purple!lol)
They were so pretty. I was given a one of the arrangements (thanks Aunt Kate) but because we were flying I couldn't take it home with me - :-(
Never mind, Siobhain took it home and promise to look after it for me.

David and I were staying in Lichfield, a beautiful part of the country. These pics are from our walk in the morning......

It is really nice to walk around a town that is well cared for and looked after by the people who stay there.

After the wedding we flew back to Scotland and as soon as we arrived home - I put down my bags, got changed into my Guide uniform and I was off to international Guide camp, Ayrwaves 2008.

Here are a couple of cards from this week (I have done a lot more! I just haven't taken any pics of them yet!)
These were ordered by a friend of mine for her sons first birthday - I think they turned out quite well.
The first one is a little ducky slider card (when I have some more time I will put a tutorial up for this style of card) and the second is a springy card (search tutorials on my side bar and you will get the instructions for this).

One of my wonderful Guides came to visit me this week - she has been working very hard on her Baden Powell Award (this is the highest award she can get with me as a Guide) and she wanted to go over a few things with me.
I have to say I was very impressed with all her hard work - her folder is looking amazing!
Well she also brought some strawberry tarts!
Here was the result!!!

The reason one of the pictures of Sarah is so blurry is because I just couldn't stop laughing! She looked like a vampire!

Good morning!
I though I would give you an update on how Daisy has settled in.
Well she has been with us now for only two weeks but you would think she had been her forever! She is very very settled and is such a joy to be around - she has also done Dylan the world of good. He eats much better now (he knows that if he leaves it alone that she will eat it!) lol

I just wanted to say a big hello to everyone that came to my demo on Saturday - it was fab to see you all again.
There were lots of familiar faces as well as some new ones.
I can't believe that it's July and I'm demoing Christmas cards.......
I promise that I'll get some piccies and tutorials uploaded as soon as I can....
Things are going to be a bit hectic here over the next few days..... David and I are of to a family wedding, then I am away for a week long Guide international camp (pray for dry weather please!).

But after that I'll be back! Lol .....

I'll try and get a piccy or two up before I go though...

Good morning!
I just can't sleep tonight..... I have so many craftin ideas going round in my head I thought I might as well come downstairs and do some blog hopping!

I love this little stamp!
In fact, it has to be said that I love anything to do with elephants at all!!!!!

I think this stamp is really good - great to use for baby cards as well as birthdays.

For this one I have stamped onto acetate and then glitters onto the back of the design. I then stamped onto white card and coloured this in with pens (diluting the colour with water).
Then I overlaid the acetate onto the coloured card.

Just a quick card for a lazy Sunday afternoon!
